ISLAMIC, Mongols. Great Khans. Ariq Böke, Rival Khan, AH 658-662 / AD 1260-1264. Jou (Bronze, 15 mm, 3.18 g), Ghazna, AH [6]58 = 1260. ‘Ghazna’ in a circle; date around. Rev. ‘Jou’ in a diamond. Album 3771B (ex 1978E.3). Extremely rare. Very fine.

This anonymous type was struck shortly after the death of the Great Khan, Möngke (AH 649-657 / AD 1251-1259), and thus resembles a similar type (Album 1978E.1) bearing the name of Möngke.
